iPod prices forever changing!

How much should you pay for an iPod? That is the question!!

In the UK market the iPod prices change frequently. At times the fluctuation borders on the ridiculous! It is almost guaranteed that a site will change their iPod prices at least once during the course of a week.

So if you are looking to buy an new iPod from a trusted outlet and are not sure how much you should pay, below is a guideline to getting the best bargain:

Cheap iPod classic 80GB - Around £140.00
Cheap iPod shuffle 1GB - Around £31.00
Cheap iPod nano 4GB - Around £80.00
Cheap iPod touch 8GB - Around £175.00

If the prices on our site are currently more expensive than those listed above and you are in no rush to buy, then the best advice we can give you is to wait and see if the prices are cheaper next week. It is not sales that we are interested in, it is getting you the best price. We don't sell the iPods, we simply show you where to go.

Amazon and Dixons are usually the best in terms of cheap prices but you will see on our site at the moment (28/06/08) that the prices they offer on 80GB iPod classics are £149.00. If you had bought one a week ago from either of these web sites you would have only paid £140.97 and saved £8.03. Next week their prices might come down again. If they do we will let you know on our homepage.

Other outlets such as Pixmania, Currys, Play, Laskys, Dabs, Argos etc change their prices too and we keep an eye on all them but Amazon and Dixons are usually the guys to beat. They obviously do a lot of competitor research too because when you see a price change from one, it is almost guaranteed that you will see a price change to match from the other within the space of a few days. Maybe they just come to Buying Cheap to check out what the other is doing ;-)

If you see a cheaper price from somewhere else just be wary of the hidden costs. Red Save sometimes do the cheapest prices for iPods but they charge you a monthly membership fee so we do not promote their company. The good thing about Amazon is that it is a case of what you see is what you pay. There are no delivery charges. For Dixons you will need to add the £5.95 delivery charge to the price you see and for some of the other sites you need to go through the order process before you can see how much you have to pay for delivery. This can be really frustrating. Customers can think they have got the best price only to find out at the end that actually it isn't. So we aim to cut out your frustrations.
