The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supramecy were both great films so I couldn't wait to see The Bourne Ultimatum but was slightly worried that my expectations would not be met - lets face it did the 2nd or 3rd Matrix film live up to anyone's expectations...? Well there was no need to worry with Bourne!
The third installment to the Bourne series was brilliant! Non stop action, smart thinking and great to watch. This time Bourne's looking to get back to his roots and find out who he was before he became the ultimate killing machine. The thought - is this not what he wanted to do in the first film? - does cross your mind but if he had found out the whole story in The Bourne Identity then there would have been no room to make a second or third film :-)
We follow Bourne from Moscow to Paris, London to Madrid, Tangier to New York as he tries to uncover the mystery of what happened to him. Trying to thwart him this time is CIA Deputy Noah Vosen (David Strathairn), who's unleashed a slew of assassins and every piece of surveillance equipment to get the job done. One-time nemesis Pamela Landy (Joan Allen) is also back on the case but there was a hint of a soft side to her in the 2nd film so watch out for what happens in The Bourne Ultimatum...
Matt Damon is excellent and Jason Bourne is overtaking James Bond as the man to be. The difference is where Bond relies on his fancy gadgets to impress, Bourne has got all the fast moves himself with no need for artificial sweeteners :-)
A must see film which lives up to expectations... lets hope it's not the last we see of Jason Bourne, there is definitely enough room for another film!
