Hiro Nakamura is a 24 year old geek with a heart of gold and he finds himself able to make time stand still and also do some time travelling. He's a great character who provides the comedy for the series. Niki Sanders is a darker jekyll and hyde character who has a serious problem with mirrors!
Claire Bennet is the invincible 17-year-old cheerleader who is bound to catch the attention of the younger male viewers and Peter Petrelli has got to be the coolest character. All he needs to do is come into contact with another super hero and he picks up their power. How cool is that? So eh... you can fly, ok I'll take that... and you can recover from any injury - yep I'll take that too!!
There's other characters such as Matt Parkman who can read people's thoughts (not the sort of person you want to be around if you don't really like them) and you'll learn about when you watch the series. Heroes is a great dvd series and you can get it here for the cheap prices shown below.

Great series
It took a while for me to get into Heroes. It was a really slow starter, but once the heroes started to get together it ended up being a great series and I can't wait for the next one. Claire Bennet is awesome, I hear she's looking to become a pop star too!
